Facilities
We have many resources available to us and through the SOC and Southampton University:
Computing Facilities
The SOC has a 24 processor Silicon Graphics Origin 2000 parallel computer with 17Gb of memory which we use for numerical modelling work.
We also use the 324 processor beowulf cluster, which is controlled by the Computing Service at the Highfield campus.
National Oceanographic Library
The National Oceanographic Library is housed at the SOC and is available for all staff and students at the SOC, as well as visitors.
